Keith D. Kelly, D. Min.
Keith Kelly was born and reared in the upstate of South Carolina for his entire life. Having accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age, he considers living for Jesus to be a lifelong journey wherein he is still “under construction.” His favorite Bible verse ( among so many others is Hebrews 12:2 ) has provided him with a constant reminder to “look unto Jesus…”
Admittedly, Pastor Keith considers himself to be a lifelong learner. He Graduated from Easley High School in the class of 1979. In addition to having earned a BA degree in religion from Central Wesleyan College ( Southern Wesleyan University ), he holds two other subsequent degrees from Covington Theological Seminary. Anyone who really knows our pastor knows that he loves to learn on a daily basis. It is his hearts desire to help others also learn to know Christ and to make Him known.
The Kelly’s have been married since 1982. As parents of three adult sons, two daughters in love and four grandchildren, family time is the highlight of their lives. Three little grandsons and one little granddaughter can be found regularly spending time at Pops and Grammas, where a good time is always had by all. Pastor Keith and Deb both consider their immediate family to be their most important ministry.
In addition to his pastoral responsibilities at His Vineyard, our senior pastor embraces many other opportunities to share the gospel. That may mean hosting Nite Line on TV 16, taking foreign mission trips, or just basically accepting most any other invitation to go preach Jesus. Since he was a very young preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ…he has declared that “in everything that we say, do or think, let’s do it all Just for Jesus!”
He also has served for many years in a dual role as a police chaplain for both the City of Greenville as the Lead Chaplain and the Chaplain Emeritus of the Greer City Police Department. Time and again, he has shared his conviction that he believes to be a police officer is as much of a calling as that of being a pastor. That is exactly why he seeks to tirelessly encourage those who protect and serve.
To preach plainly, smile consistently and add as much value to others as he possibly can pretty well sums up his daily agenda regardless of whatever else might be happening in his life or for that matter, in the world.
